Venice is becoming pure 'service-industry' city with one day tourism politics that has rendered it little more then glass/masks shops-restaurants-hotels trip. Within this 'modern slavery', the working class: people from Sri Lanka, China... non EU citizens cannot even afford to rent an apartment in the city they work in, so each rush hour they flood it.
The painted panel was hiding the building site of Calatrava's bridge at Piazzale Roma (the last point you reach by the car) for years and what fascinated me was the clash of the workers walking in front of something that fake - that became so real.
They both - the falsity of the panel/city and the invisible presence of the immigrants - don't like to be considered as such, nor by the Venetian citizens, nor by the turists.
